EQUEST EDUCATION GROUP AND STANDARD CHARTERED SIGN PARTNERSHIP, COMMITTING UP TO $325 MILLION IN INVESTMENT THROUGH THE VIET NAM INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL CENTER IN HO CHI MINH CITY (VIFC-HCMC)

On September 23, 2026, in New York, USA, during the official visit of General Secretary and President To Lam, EQuest Education Group, EQuest Capital – a member of EQuest Education Group under the Viet Nam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC) – and Standard Chartered Bank (New York Branch) signed an agreement. This agreement aims to raise up to 325 million USD in international capital for education projects in Vietnam.

The event was witnessed by General Secretary and President To Lam, the Vietnamese Government delegation, and Mr. Richard D. McClellan, CEO of the Executive Agency of the Viet Nam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ms. Mandy DeFilippo, CEO of Standard Chartered for the Americas and EAMEA; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan, Chairman of EQuest Education Group; and Mr. Truong Hoang Nam, Deputy General Director of Finance at EQuest and Director of EQuest Capital.

Under the agreement, Standard Chartered will act as a strategic partner in structuring and arranging financial packages. Meanwhile, EQuest Capital will receive the raised funds and invest them in infrastructure projects and improving the education quality of EQuest in Vietnam, with Ho Chi Minh City being a key focus area.

The agreement aims to connect international capital with long-term education projects in Vietnam, ranging from general and higher education to technology training and high-quality human resource development. At the same time, it promotes the role of VIFC-HCMC in connecting international financial resources.
