VIET NAM AND THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA EXPAND FINANCIAL COOPERATION TOWARDS GREATER MARKET AND FINANCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE CONNECTIVITY
On July 13, 2026, the Viet Nam–Republic of Korea Financial Cooperation Forum was held in Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of representatives from VIFC-HCMC, regulatory authorities, financial institutions, and professional organizations from both Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea.

The Viet Nam–Republic of Korea Financial Cooperation Forum was held in Ho Chi Minh City.
The forum focused on exchanging experience in developing international financial centres and discussing future directions for capital market connectivity, cross-border payments, fintech, green finance, and non-performing loan resolution.
Drawing on the Republic of Korea’s experience in developing financial centres in Seoul and Busan, delegates discussed a range of practical insights relevant to VIFC-HCMC as it works to build a modern, transparent, and internationally connected financial ecosystem.
Notably, the areas of cooperation discussed included connecting QR payment infrastructure between Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea, developing capital markets, advancing supply chain finance and asset management, and strengthening the exchange of experience in institutional frameworks and market infrastructure.

The forum marks a further step in expanding VIFC-HCMC’s international cooperation network.
For VIFC-HCMC, the forum represents a further step in expanding its international cooperation network, gaining practical experience, and promoting professional cooperation mechanisms with Korean partners in areas aligned with the Centre’s development priorities.
