FROM STANDARD TRUST TO GREEN CAPITAL: VIFC-HCMC BUILDS AN INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL ECOSYSTEM
Posted on 18/09/2026
The ACCA - VIFC Forum 2026, organized by the Viet Nam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC) in collaboration with ACCA, brought together policymakers, international professional organizations, financial institutions, and global businesses. They gathered to discuss the necessary foundations for an international financial center: standards, transparency, human resources, and sustainable finance.

At the conference, VIFC-HCMC shared its direction to develop an international financial ecosystem. The focus is on products and markets such as investment funds and asset management, international bonds, financial technology (fintech), and derivative commodities to strengthen connections with global capital flows. Ms. Helen Brand, Chief Executive of ACCA Global, emphasized that trust, built on transparent standards, strong governance, and high-quality human resources, is the foundation for markets to participate more deeply in the international financial system.
From transparent standards to green capital, the ACCA - VIFC Forum 2026 continues to confirm VIFC-HCMC's direction in building a reliable, modern, and sustainable international financial ecosystem. This ecosystem is ready to effectively connect with global resources and capital flows.
Following the program, Panel Discussion 2, themed "Turning ESG into Capital: International Standards and Green Markets," focused on how to transform sustainable development commitments into capital-raising opportunities. Speakers from HSBC Vietnam, BCG, Visa, KPMG, and Moody's Ratings discussed the green transition linked with digital transformation, sustainable reporting standards under IFRS S1/S2, and the risk management framework and development of the green bond market.
Panel Discussion 1, themed "Establishing a Transparent and Reliable Financial Ecosystem in Line with Global Practices," clarified the four pillars of an international financial center. These include international reporting standards like IFRS and ESG, a stable legal framework, practical risk management capacity, and a digital infrastructure that ensures security and compliance. The combination of these factors is considered the foundation to attract and maintain international capital flows in the long term.
