VIFC-HCMC AND ACCA STRENGTHEN EXCHANGE, PROMOTE COOPERATION TO DEVELOP THE INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL ECOSYSTEM

Following the conference on the morning of September 17, 2026, the Executive Agency of the Viet Nam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) held a meeting at the VIFC-HCMC headquarters, 123 Truong Dinh, in the afternoon. The meeting aimed to discuss in more detail the directions and contents of their cooperation in the coming time.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Richard D. McClellan, CEO of the Executive Agency of VIFC-HCMC, and department leaders; Ms. Helen Brand, Chief Executive of ACCA Global; Mr. Ren Varma, Head of Mainland Southeast Asia at ACCA; Mr. To Quoc Hung, Country Head of ACCA Vietnam, along with CFOs from multinational corporations in the ACCA network, representatives of the British Consulate General, BritCham Vietnam, and organizations and businesses such as Moody’s, Visa, PwC, and KPMG.

Based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the discussion focused on developing professional capacity, high-quality human resources, training and professional certificates, and connecting expert networks and industry associations. These efforts aim to support the development of VIFC-HCMC. The meeting helped to specify the cooperation between VIFC-HCMC and ACCA and strengthen connections with the network of international experts, organizations, and businesses. This is a step toward developing the financial ecosystem, human resources, and professional services in line with VIFC-HCMC's goals of professionalism, transparency, and international standards.

Notably, ACCA also discussed supporting Vietnam's auditing sector, which is one of their priorities. They aim to promote green finance and improve capacity in sustainable reporting standards through active training, gradual implementation, and practical support for organizations. At the same time, they will step by step introduce the first members to the VIFC-HCMC ecosystem, building a strong foundation for the Center's future growth.
