HCMC CLIMBS 17 SPOTS ON GFCI 40, STRENGTHENING ITS GLOBAL FINANCIAL POSITION

Ho Chi Minh City has jumped 17 places to rank 67th in the 40th Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 40), reflecting its growing recognition among the international financial community.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre, Mr. Richard McClellan, Executive Director of the Viet Nam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC) Executive Office, noted that rankings are only one indicator of international market interest. The real value of a financial center lies in its ability to build trust, attract financial institutions, connect investors, and drive real capital flows, products, and financial transactions.
Looking ahead, VIFC-HCMC is focusing on three key priorities: developing a transparent and predictable regulatory framework, upgrading financial and digital infrastructure, and enhancing local talent.
