MSB is planning to establish a wholly-owned commercial bank subsidiary at the Viet Nam International Financial Center (VIFC). This long-term strategy aims to expand its growth scope, improve competitiveness, and better adopt international financial standards.

Operating at the VIFC could help MSB access global capital at competitive costs, making it easier to finance green projects and renewable energy initiatives. This model could also help the bank diversify its foreign exchange derivatives, take advantage of favorable policies at the VIFC, and expand its interbank operations both in Vietnam and abroad.

In this context, the VIFC can serve as an open space for Vietnamese financial institutions to connect with international markets, create higher value-added financial products, and take part more actively in global capital, trade, and investment flows.

MSB’s strengths in foreign exchange, treasury operations, and its international correspondent banking network can provide a solid foundation to better connect corporate clients with cross-border financial solutions.

Beyond traditional banking services, expanding into securities and insurance can help MSB complete its financial services value chain and build modern capital market capabilities. At the same time, investments in technology, data, digital platforms, and AI will play a key role in connecting the ecosystem and driving new financial products and services.
