On September 25, the Executive Agency of the Viet Nam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC) met with BritCham and representatives from international businesses, investment funds, banks, and financial institutions to discuss cooperation in developing the Viet Nam International Financial Center.
During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Huan, Vice Chairman of VIFC-HCMC, introduced key development plans for the Centre, the requirements and process for becoming a member, and member incentive policies. He also explained the “one centre, two destinations” model for developing the Viet Nam International Financial Center.

Based on the discussion, BritCham representatives and experts from KPMG and Dragon Capital suggested several areas for cooperation and support, including carbon credit markets, financial technology (fintech), cross-border risk management, and anti-money laundering. BritCham also offered to connect VIFC-HCMC with experts in the UK to provide advice and share international experience. Representing international banks, Mr. Tim Evans, CEO of HSBC Vietnam, shared practical lessons from global banking markets to offer useful ideas for building the VIFC.
The meeting helped VIFC-HCMC expand its network with UK partners, creating opportunities to learn from global experience and access professional expertise. Moving forward, both sides plan to hold detailed follow-up discussions to turn these cooperation ideas into action.
