VIFC-HCMC SHARES VISION TO CONNECT GLOBAL CAPITAL WITH VIETNAM’S GROWTH AT HIGH-LEVEL STRATEGIC DIALOGUE IN NEW YORK

          Posted on 23/09/2026

On September 23 in New York, as part of the Strategic Dialogue between General Secretary and State President To Lam, the high-level Vietnamese delegation, and US and international business leaders, Mr. Richard D. McClellan, Chief Executive Officer of the Viet Nam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC), spoke to the global business community about the role and development vision of the Viet Nam International Financial Center.

The dialogue brought together Vietnamese leaders alongside representatives of international corporations and financial institutions. Discussions focused on capital markets, energy, investment, and partnership opportunities linked to the development journey of Vietnam and the VIFC.

As Vietnam enters a new phase of growth requiring stronger capital resources, institutional reforms, and global integration, Mr. Richard D. McClellan emphasized that the VIFC is built to serve Vietnam’s long-term interests while opening a new gateway to channel global capital into domestic growth opportunities.

From this perspective, connecting with international capital is not just about attracting funds. It also requires a trusted, reliable platform where global institutions can participate in Vietnam’s growth under clear, transparent rules and take an active role in shaping the future.

Mr. McClellan also highlighted the advantages of joining early. By coming in from the initial stages, international organizations can not only access emerging opportunities in Vietnam, but also help shape the first standards, instruments, and transactions across the VIFC ecosystem.

Through direct dialogues with the global business and financial community, VIFC-HCMC continues to expand partnerships, share expertise, and encourage international partners to take part in building a financial ecosystem that directly serves Vietnam’s real development needs.
